Awa Park forms a significant part of Precinct 4, now formally named Maewa, a strategically rezoned area of Feilding that is earmarked to accommodate the majority of Feilding's residential growth over the next two decades.

With local Iwi being an integral part of this collaboration, the development’s name recognises the connection with the land and its role in bringing people together. ‘Awa Park at Maewa’ is inspired by the Mangakino Stream that flows within it — ‘Awa’ meaning ‘stream’ & ‘Maewa’ meaning ‘to meander through.’
